At Vital Farms, we believe people deserve a genuine look at the open pastures where their eggs come from. So instead of photographing them ourselves, we turned to the residents who live there — the hens — to let them capture a glimpse of their lives under the sun.
After all, who better to give you an honest lay of the land than the hens who call it home.

The Coffee Table Book
In the fall of 2021, we built the world’s first hen-friendly and hen-operated camera, gave it to the hens of Vital Farms, and took a step back to let them shoot a candid impression of life on the farm. This book is the story of The Hens Behind The Lens and the photos they captured.
